Common questions

How do I sign in?

Billig supports three sign-in methods, all passwordless:

  • Magic link by email — enter your email, we'll send a sign-in link.
  • Google Sign-In
  • Apple Sign-In

You can also use Billig as a guest (no account) to scan up to 5 receipts before being asked to create an account.

How do I delete my account or data?

Open the app → Account → Privacy → Delete account & data. This permanently removes your account, all receipts and images, all chat history, and all push tokens. You'll receive a confirmation email at the address linked to your account.

How do I export my data?

Open the app → Account → Privacy → Export my data. We send you a JSON export of your account, receipts, and chat history. Free accounts can export once per month.

What are the usage limits?

The chat says "Rate limit exceeded" — what now?

You've used today's free chat allowance (5 messages). The limit is rolling — it resets 24 hours after your earliest message in the current window. If chat is core to how you use Billig, let us know via feedback so we can prioritize the Pro tier.

Why does AI scanning sometimes get items wrong?

The AI is good but not perfect. You can edit any field on a receipt by tapping it — your corrections are saved instantly. We use Google Gemini under the hood; for unusually formatted receipts (faded print, exotic layouts) accuracy drops. Send us a sample at support@getbillig.com if a particular merchant consistently misreads.

I'm on Android — where do I download?

An Android beta APK is available from the homepage. The Play Store listing is in progress.

I lost access to my email — what now?

Without access to your sign-in email, we cannot recover your account for security reasons (we don't store passwords or recovery questions). Contact support@getbillig.com with details and we'll do our best to help, but recovery is not guaranteed.

How is my data protected?

See our Privacy Policy for the full picture. Highlights:

  • Sign-in tokens stored in iOS Keychain or Android Keystore.
  • All API traffic over TLS 1.2+.
  • Receipt images served only to the authenticated owner; ownership verified server-side on every request.
  • No advertising, no third-party tracking pixels, no data sales.
